Default XBR PS3 remote

The PS3 uses Blue Tooth which is a RF signal. The XBR remotes are Infrared. I read somewhere that there was an aftermarket IR adapter for the PS3 though. If you can find that type of adapter than it is possible.

There was a post on here of a new tech Panny is using to allow devices to be controlled over HDMI. Maybe in the future there will be a PS3 update to allow system control through HDMI from another device. Until then, just the bluetooth BD remote or the Sixaxis.

Default no

As you already know the answer is no..., it's worth reenforcing we have to wait for a nice bluetooth remote.

Sony has similar going into play with the Bravia line.

That said, pretty much if you want to control the PS3, you need a bluetooth device...

Which annoys me so much having purchased a Harmony not long before the ps3 launched.

There is a way to work the PS3 with a Harmony, I read an article on it a while back, just after the new year I believe. I'm sorry I don't have it bookmarked or anything, but there is a way.
