Default Sony XBR Series

How come the Sony XBR series cost more than their competitors that have the same specs?

Have you ever seen one? They have one of the brightest & sharpest displays of any hdtv i've seen..Plus anything with "Sony" on it automatically is gonna cost more ...

Compare picture quality, not specs.

XBRs are the LCD winner.

Let the plasma discussion ensue...

I agree with the former but disagree with the latter

I was in a custom style home theater store similar to Harvey or others, and they had a Sony XBR5 52 next to a Samsung 240hz 52" both ISF calibrated and in my opinion the 5 blew the Samsung away from close up to 10 - 15 ft away. Sony is a bit overpriced at times, but with the xbr series you really get quality. I'm the proud owner of an XBR5 and a few other brands and with bluray, nothing comes close.
