Default XBR9 or B750

right now I have the Samung LN46B750 and when i have the AMP set to standard, smooth, or even some custom settings when Im watching blu rays i am still getting ghosting or hazing around characters and this is not even during "action" scenes...I took a look at the Z5100 at my local Best Buy and ran the same blu rays that I was having problems with on my B750 and everything seemed fine...I am wondering if it is just my set but then with the XBR9 being in the same price range right now I am wondering if I should just go with that tv because I do enjoy the soap-opera look so I will have 240hz on at all times when watching movies...for those that have the xbr9 and do enjoy the soap-opera look are you having problems with ghosting? and for those that have the B750 that like the soap opera look are you having problems with ghosting as well? I do like the tv alot and if i can just replace it and that will fix the problem then i'd definitely be happy about that but if I had to switch to another tv it will be the xbr9...anyone's opinions will be greatly appreciated

lower the frequency to 60hz or 120hz. 240 is just too high. I have B750 too and ps3 games and bluray funs flawlessly.

Lower the frequecy????? You cannot lower or turn off refresh rates. You can however lower or turn off motion enhancement which is what gives lcds that 3d effect. The refresh rate or frequency (in hertz) is built into the set and is not adjustable.

Im going to assume that you have it on a custom setting...like was posted above you can't just turn it down although you can adjust it in custom...is that what you were referring to?

you're suggesting a pioneer? would you like to elaborate on which one? and please dont say a kuro because I can't afford that otherwise i would be asking about the xbr8 which is much much closer to the price range of a kuro then both the b750 and the xbr9 which are currently on sale...so if you could tell me a little more as to what you are trying to recommend. I am looking for something that puts out a great soap-opera look type picture so that puts plasmas out of the picture

if you have the B750 model, then you have the newer AMP adjustments in your menu. you need to go in adjust your judder & blur ranges. this may fix your ghosting problem yet still grant you the proper 3D SOE look you still want to have.

in the menu, go up one level above pciture mode to picture settings. then go down to the 240HZ AMP menu and click on it and pick custom, then the 2nd menu should pop up next and you'll see these two range of settings im talking about.

youre not going to get the same output of SOE on the XBR9 (little to none actually) as you do with the B750. The B750 is far more advanced in this regard.

yes thank you i know where the custom bar is but what I was referring to is that I wanted a strong soap-opera feel without the ghosting, hazing, or halos...i normally have it set to blur 10 and judder 6...with that i have found that halos are nearly completely gone but at the same time i notice that in fast action type scenes, like if an individual is being chased, that the image looses that soap opera feel im looking for and seems to revert a bit more to "what the director intended" look....where as with the xbr9 I can set the option to high with cinemotion off and the soap opera effect stays that way even with a fast action scene...the reason I was posting this was because I wanted to know if anyone else's B750 did this as well because i wanted to know if it was just my set that way i could just exchange it...and also between the two which one owners prefer overall...thanks again
