List Your Top Up & Coming Actors That You Like!! - Blu-ray Forum

Lets see what new actors on the scene that people like. When I say up and coming, I mean cats that have only been around doin "movies" the last 4-5 years or less! And actors that u feel will make a good name for himself and simply that you like. I would say these guys:

Channing Tatum
Tyrese
Columbus Short

Got Em!!

I don't think there ARE any actors under 30 that I like that aren't already well-established.

Heath Ledger was really the only one and he's gone now, so...

I don't like Tyrese or Channing, I can't stand Shia and I don't even know who Short is.

I wouldn't call Tyrese a "TOP" up and coming actor, because he's a generic actor and he doesn't take challenging roles anymore. His best movie was Baby Boy, and since then he's done very generic acting roles. Channing Tatum is kind of the same way, and I don't think he's that good of an actor. He's entertaining, sure, but imo, he's not impressive.

I think Jake Gyllenhaal and James McAvoy are pretty impressive actors, but I can't really think of any good up and coming actors that impressed me recently. Although I hope Chris Hemsworth is at the start of a great career, he could be promising

Columbus short was in "Accepted" (the only black guy lol) and he starred in a great dance movie called "Stomp The Yard". He was also in "Quarantine" & "This Christmas" I liked him from the jump!! Got Em!!

U like who u like! I liked Ty from the jump as well, in the above mentioned Baby Boy, but Ive liked him in everything I seen him in!! he is just touching the surface and I think u will see what he can do in the future!! Got em!!

Yeah I like him a lot, I just don't think he's one of the best actors out there. I'm excited to see where Ben Foster and Emile Hirsch go in their careers, I think those guys are pretty talented

Well no he aint one of the best out there period but as for the last few years as a newer actor in the spotlight I think he can hang!! But I dont know what kind of movies u like etc... but Columbus Short is good also! But there are some other cats out there that are hungry to, but those 2 along with Tatum caught my eye from the jump! Got Em!!

Emile Hirsch was a good one for whoever said that. I thought he was good in Milk.

He is terrible.

Don't really care much for any of the younger actors. Jake and Shia I guess are two good ones.

U also have to look at what the movie or director wants as well!! I wouldnt watch milk, but I would watch fighting, GI Joe etc... I like Channing's style and sometimes an actor just catches your eye and then u roll with him from there!! I havent seen Emile Hirsch i dont think so I cant comment on him!! Got Em!!

So what constitutes "Up and Coming"? Tyrese has been cast pretty consistently since 2000 and Hirsch since '98. I'd consider up and coming the likes of Rebecca Hall (via KpKelley) She's only been in the spotlight since 2006 with only a few major roles.

Yea tyrese been in the game about 8 years so thats pushing it, but for movies that aint a long time and he still young so I guess in those guidelines!! Kind of a judgment call I guess!! I still think he showing what he has and he is still establishing himself!! Got Em!!
