Just another ploy by Seth MacFarlane for some attention. His show has lost its funny over the last few seasons, I guess he thought abortion jokes would be funny.

He thinks all sorts of controversial and serious issues are "funny". This isn't new.

Macfarlane is so arrogant. I really can't stand him. I think some of the old Family Guy episodes are funny but I think he is a real jerk.

It couldn't possibly be any worse than the Southpark fetus eating Christopher Reeves episode. I have no problem with edgy controversial humor. People take some things too seriously.

Family Guy was GOLD for the first 3 seasons. Fans asking for the show to be brought back was a mistake as all they got was South Park Lite. It's a shame that Seth forgot what made the show funny from the start.

I pray that this same mistake isn't made by Groening with Futurama being restarted.

Yeah, but McFarlane is waaaaaaaay too one-sided. South Park at least makes fun of everyone equally. I may not agree with a lot of what Family Guy makes fun of, but I still see the humor (though some gets real old) and love the show.

To say 'lost it's funny' would seem to imply that it was funny in the first place.

exactly, family guy was great at first, but the last 2 or three seasons it has just turned into a one sided political and social commentary, so much so that i stopped watching, not really smart to alienate half your customer base, at least south park points out that both sides can be wrong and each has their share of wackos, i respect that they try to at least be constructive and not just tear one group a new a$$hole every episode and act like they are so much smarter than everyone else

Oh good, another Family Guy hate thread. I catch the show every now and then, get my cheap laugh and accept what it's become. I loved the first three seasons though.

When they made the Heath Ledger overdosing "joke" it just felt too forced. If we're going to compare it to the far superior South Park (which I still love), at least they provide connections to these controversial topics. Family Guy just feels like an obnoxious person yelling out the rudest thing they could think of just for the attention.

You have to admire Seth McFarlane though, his show gets cancelled, he brings it back, dumbs it down, and milks the public for every dime (American Dad, Cleveland Show, countless DVD releases, new salary).

I for one would much rather have more Family Guy and South Park type comedy on TV than the current politically-correct garbage that dominates the "comedy" line-ups on the networks.

I hate when people take comedy too seriously. If you don't like it, don't watch it and stop wasting our time with comments like it is beneath me. To each his or her own.

Personally I hate American Idol, America's Got Talent and all those other "talent"-type shows, but I am not going to talk down to someone who likes them.

Family Guy was hilarious to me a couple of years ago. I very much enjoyed the randomness of the jokes. But then, one of my good friends pointed me in the direction of the South Park episode where they absolutely EVISCERATED Family Guy (the "dolphin/pop culture reference" show), and, I'm sorry, but I just could not look at this show the same way ever again.
