Default Suggestion for Mods . . .

Since this forum has seen a lot of rapid growth in members lately, I and I'm sure everybody else has noticed that the same question gets asked AT LEAST 5 times a day. Will X movie come out on Blu-Ray, where's Star Wars, where's LOTR, where's . . . . you know. So, here's my suggestion. First, is there a way to make a sticky on the home page? If so, you could make a sticky that says something like, READ BEFORE YOU POST, or WHEN WILL ???? BE OUT ON BD? Something like that, hopefully cutting down on repost after repost after repost. This worked to some degree over on the Nine Inch Nails forum when everybody was going retarded for the Year Zero ARG, and there were hundreds of new members joining everyday. A sticky of FAQ's could also be created on each forum, in bold as to draw as much attention as possible. Just a couple of suggestions . . . it's getting kind of frustrating, as I used to come on and check out the home page when I had a couple of minutes, but now the home page is usually flooded with some question we've seen a million times. I'm sure we could get a lot of people to contribute relevant threads and sites to answer most of these FAQs. Or, if they're within their first 10 posts and they ask one of these questions, we just kill them

That is a great idea. As a new member to the forum, i assumed these questions were asked but didn't want to go hunting for the answer.
It would be great if there was a sticky that listed info like this.

Default Agreed!

I am a new member as well, but have been lurking (and still lurk) for quite some time now. I usually just read the posts on the home page to see if someone has said anything interesting as I'm more of a learner/reader than a learner/asker or searcher for that matter and therefore definantly agree that a FAQ on Forum posts is needed and would be greatly appreciated on the Home Page as I have seen many of these posts over and over and over... Just don't kill anyone! Sometimes you can search but the answers may not be worded the right way or touch around what you're looking for but isn't clarified enough so you ask - - - only to be bombarded with "do a search" and meaner things related to this, and still have no answer to your question.

Well, I do have an idea... maybe not everybody will like the idea but I think it may help.

By preventing the new members from starting their own threads till they reach their 10th posting or a certain number, it may cut down the numbers of these types of threads.

Just a thought.

This has been considered before, and I partially agree. But there are some people with legit, unique questions that can't be anwsered be Google, or a search here.

You could also have a sticked thread for each of the most asked about BD titles . . . although this would require the poster to actually look at posts when entering the thread, which I'm sure many do not. If we could put these on the main page it may help, too. A lot of stickied threads, but it would unclog us a bit.

You know, the frequency of the "when will this be out" threads get to me a bit, but it's always of course new member, which is nice to see so many people coming here to learn more about the format.

I would like it if you had the following function

'view posts since last visit'

that would save a lot of searching for me and it might also help out the other guy as he suggested that a lot of users ask the same questions eg star wars etc.
