Who here knows Mike Nichols. Famous for Charlie Wilson's War, Closer, and Wolf. Well, he is set to direct Deep Water.

Fox 2000 has set Mike Nichols to direct and Joe Penhall (upcoming The Road) to write Deep Water, an adaptation of the 1957 Patricia Highsmith novel, reports Variety.

In Deep Water, a couple in a loveless marriage hang on through an arrangement whereby the husband permits the wife to take lovers. Suspense builds as those lovers begin dying.

Highsmith wrote the thrillers "Strangers on a Train" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley."

Sucky news. This is one that was higher on my radar for 2022. Hopefully it will still see the light of day sooner rather than later via streaming.
