Default The Spanierd's Modest Setup coming along.

Im just starting to finnish up my modest setup. I love nice clean setup's that make you feel nice and cozy. I live in a very old house with old radiators and old wall falling apart but I tried as best I could to make it look nice considering it's our small and only living room but the wife was great and loved the way it turned out. Today I had the guy from Dish replace my VIP 622 and he asked that I demo it and was blown away with sound coming from the Polk setup. I used The Incredible Hulk University scene and it was buggin out. Anyway's love to here your comments.

You should make a gallery for the pics or use photobucket to show them on posts.

I have an old house too..... so I feel your pain regarding placement issues and small living rooms.....

With that said, Do the radiators work? If so, and they are in use, I'd be concerned about having the equipment that close to it.....

If they don't work, here is my suggestion...... Just a thought....

Remove the covers you have on them, and repaint the radiators.... no reason to cover them unless you have kids who may get burned on them.... I always preferred the "natural" look of them.

All of our radiators were removed, and the flooring was replaced with extra from when the house was built.... so fortunately we don't have any radiators in our house.

Setup looks good!

Hey thanks for the comment's. The radiator does work and must be covered because the wall behind the radiator looks like shit really. I did have my TV that close already last winter and I did not think it was a problem. The cover on the radiator stays cool to the touch when it is working in winter, because its actually the weakest one in the house. Its made out of metal and the heat seams to come straight out, I was very worried last year being that the SXRD lamp is right next to the radiator and thought it might over heat. As for the mega cover Im thinking about painting it to go with the Living room theme. Brown on the main part and the same peanut butter color on the walls for the grill. I will post some new pictures soon and also make a gallery.

I just created my Gallery and posted 10 more picture that feature the whole room. I hope you guys like it. I wish I would have taken a before picture cause the work I had on the room alone was crazy. It had an old fan that I replaced with that new one and boy I thought I was going to look my mind when I removed the old one and the only thing in the ceiling was a huge whole with no electrical box and pieces falling out. But I very happy now and I hope you guys like it.

I actually like the look of the radiator covers -- very classy and in keeping with the overall style of the house. We used to live in a house with radiators and I actually miss it. Very "clean" heat as opposed to forced air -- especially if one has allergies.

Thanks much for the comment's, cause I need all the help I can get dealing with those radiators right in my main viewing area. I will painting them soon to match the two tone color of the room.

I think you are taking the right approach. You're not trying to hide them, but rather integrate them in to you setup, and IMO it works well. As long as, like BetaMan said, the heat isn't affecting your equipment. And I think you already stated that it isn't.
