Default Help connect home theater to network

Ok so i am trying to connect my components to a wireless network in my house. I want to connect my tv, bd player, receiver, and ps3 (i know the ps3 is wireless but i would like to have everything running through one router) to a wireless router in the room to connect to another wireless router downstairs. The router downstairs is the Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router. I have 4 cat5e cables for each device, if i were to get a seccond Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router and connect each device to the router would i be able to connect to the router downstairs. Would this yeild the best results? Is there a better way to make the connection? I would idealy like to hard wire everything and not use wireless but it is my only option.
Any help is appreciated.

What you need is a wireless bridge. That will let the two wireless devices talk to one another. There is a mod'd firmware that you can use, or get something like a gaming wireless adapter or something like that. Both Linksys and D-Link have the devices you are looking for.

ok so i almost forgot about this thread but i was looking around and most of the bridges can only connect to a single device. I did find this though and i think this will do the job

Will i be able to connect 4 devices to this unit and the have it wirelessly connect to my router?

Well, if you have more than 4 devices to connect to a wireless network, then you should use a switch to connect all the devices and then connect the switch to the wireless bridge.

All the wireless is doing is extending your LAN across a wireless network, hence the W in WLAN.

Although I don;t use wireless for my HT equipment, I have an 8-port switch in my A/V cabinet, with a single Ethernet cable connected to another 8-port switch in my office, which in turn connects to my Wireless Access Point for my laptops to connect to. From there, they go out to the Internet via my cable modem.

Hope this makes sense.

jsut get a hub. then connect the hub to the router via cable. Anything you plug into the router or the hub with get its network address (dhcp ip address) from the router). If you dont want to get a hub, you should be able to disable one of the router to just make it a hub. Usually by disabling dhcp or such. Once you do that and connect both routers via a cable, then the 1 router will do the work of assigning addresses to the computer regardless of whatever router they are plugged into. whichever router you plug your internet cbale into (cable/dsl or whatever) is probably the one you want to leave active as the router.

Personally, I prefer the D-Link switches.

I don't know much about that bridge. As a matter of fact, I'm not really familiar with any of them. But it seems good enough.

You have some good suggestions for Wireless here, but for High Def Video and Sound Hard Wired is the only way to go. I know you said Wireless is your only option, but I think you will be sadly disappointed, especially for Firmware updates. Wireless has it's uses, but not for High Def. Bring in some professionals to run Ethernet, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
