While I haven't seen all their movies (who in their right mind would want to?) I'll go with Uwe Boll and Renny Harlin.

M Night Shymalan is the worst director that people still respect, not sure how George Lucas received mention here?

i don't know about worst but i do not care for a lot of Ratner's work.

I don't think hes the ''worst'' director but I think Byran Singer is overrated.

i know i'm taking this more seriously than i should, but i don't think there is a "worst" director....they all have their own styles/artistic range that some viewers may like and some may not

to say that someone in hollywood is the worst director in the business seems kind of tasteless, but that's just me.

is a "best director thread" coming next?

edit: as far as directors that i think are overrated, i was never a big fan of guy ritchie. can't stand his movies, but i have friends that really enjoy them (and i'm sure many on here do too

).

Bill Shatner makes a great starship captain, not bad as a cop, hell he can even sell cheap plane tickets. But you put him in that directors chair he could !@#$ up a wet dream.

b/c a lot of people will disagree w/the spielberg and michael bay comments.
