Default Zodiac?

What happened to this? Back in May it was announced with a July 24th release date. Now I can't find anything about it anywhere, only the regular DVD version coming out that day.

Yea, I just saw that. I guess I should have searched better before starting a thread. Oops.

September 18th. Bummer.

Apparently a 'Director's Cut' edition is coming out in 2008 according to DavisDVD.com. They had a "promo slip" inside the DVD case of Zodiac.

Way to rip off the consumers.

No kidding! I'd be mad if I bought that and the were advertising a better version! Bastards.

Wouldn't this make this the first official "double dip" of BD? Superman Returns and Fifth Element have reissues, but I wouldn't really consider these double dips.

That's if they do release the original cut onto Blu-ray Disc. I know it's listed for September 18 but will it happen?

I don't see it on Amazon, so that's a possibility.

Seven is amazing!! There was a movie that came close, but the acting spoiled it for me. it's called Resurrection with Christopher Lambert.

Seven was brilliant. I thought Spacey was awesome too.

It's a completely different kind of film. It's more of a drama/detective story. It's really good tho

Yeah, it's based on the Zodiac killer of the late 60's early 70's if I remember the time frame correctly. Very interesting story. He'd send these encrypted messages to the police regarding the murders. They had a very hard time cracking them (a farmer and his wife cracked the first one) but there are still some of this cyphers they haven't figured out to this day. They still don't know who he was.

Exclamation this movie is a killer

I think that the movie is really well done. In fact it's very interesting and factual. they took real characters and their search for the monsterous killer and used it to make a great flick. This is not a slasher type of movie though it's about the cops , and newsmen who spent 20 years trying to figure out who this guy was. by 1991 law enforcement was pretty sure about it though, I was there at the time , I can tell you that this guy truly terrorized people in a way that isn't possible for someone to do these days. other than a terrorist like osam bin laudin, we exist in a different age and the term serial killer didn't even exist back then! his hooded outfit was truly evil too and this only made it worse, the movie does give a good case for who the real killer was and I won't spoil it for you. but I agree it was just wrong for this to be pushed back to september. It makes no business sense either. a similiar movie about another true monster will hopefully make it out someday too "the town that dreaded sundown" for some stupid reason that flick isn't even out on standard dvd. but that movie is similiar to this one and all factual which is more scary to me than a made up killer. that was the 1946 killings by a hooded killer who was never caught either. I will get this one when it comes out on br for sure. but it's worth seeing on regular dvd too.

Not better than Se7en in my opinion, but well, how could it be? No shock factor lol.

Director's Cut? Imagine how long that would be, considering the theatrical cut was pushing three hours...

Good movie though.

Zodiac (the movie) is a waste of time.

So boring, so dragging and it's definitely not worth it. A film that sucks so bad that it is even worse than 'crap'. The entire middle part of the film was so dragging (with boring dialogue) and heck, there were only three scary scenes in it. Heck, Master and Commander is even better than this cheap film job.

Simply put, THE most boring film of the year (almost as boring as Bloodrayne)

As you are entitled to your opinion, I thought this movie was intelligent, superbly written and acted. it is the best movie of 2008 so far. In my humble opinion. So is it confirmed that Zodiac Directors cut is coming to blu-ray too?

Maybe you could tell us what your idea of a good film is?

I thought both "Zodiac" and "Master and Commander" were great... but there's no accounting for taste as they say.
