microfiber is fine, I bought the monster screen cleaner that came with a microfiber cloth, but any cloth will suffice.

Best to use a lense cloth, you can get one at at a camera shop, or with a screen cleaning kit.

yes, the microfiber cloth is fine. just remember your not buffing your car! wipe the screen gently, without heavy handed, pressing motions and everything will work out fine. the other thing to remember is to tell folks "NOT TO TOUCH THE SCREEN WITH THEIR BARE HANDS!" i watch folks at work or home, computer or HDTV, they for some reason must touch it with their fingers while pointing at something. that oil on your fingers/hands will do more damage to the screen than dust will ever do to the screen. screens on HDTV's and LCD computer monitors are for watching, not touching!

Yes, have to agree. Make sure cloth is at least slightly damp as well. This will further reduce any abrasiveness. Easy, light pressure is the key. Just enough pressure to get clean the screen - no more. Hopefully, cleaning the screen will be required as LITTLE as possible. I've had my Sony XBR4 for going-on two years, and I've 'damp-cleaned' cleaned the screen twice so far. Dusting screen (with feather duster) is done a few times a month.

Getting people NOT to touch my 22" LCD screen at work is like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Pens, fingertips, ugh... I have marks, scratches and other anomalies permanently etched on the screen surface as a result of ignorance. At home, no problem, except for a full-hand print from my young son one time...lol. Cleaned it off without a hitch.

If your screen has finger prints on it then by all means use the cleaning solution and microfiber cloth from Monster that works very good. But if your just getting the dust off use a feather duster like I do. Plus it was cheap from Home Depot!

I do the same ! one thing to add is to clean the screen when it is been off & is cool to prevent the solution from leaving smear marks from being warm !!

I just got into with my wife last night. There is about a 4 inch smear/line on my new TV, and I wiped it with the cloth that came with the TV. I asked my wife if she still sees it. She then walks up to the TV and starts rubbing the smear with her hands. I about had a heart attack right then and there!

Seriously though, it seems like when I use the cloth to wipe it off, it appears to go away, but it's actually still on there. Any suggestions to get this off? I don't know what caused it. I can't tell what it is.

Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, I can't be around ALL the time though. I told her just let me clean it. Don't spray anything around it or anything...I'll handle it. She says she doesn't know what caused the smear either. I just want to get rid of the thing!

I just use a damp Viva paper towel. My neice touched mine with stick fingers, and I tried like hell to clean it with the lil P.O.S micro-fiber towel and it didn't do crap! Thats when I turned to the softest made paper towel I could find. Get it damp with a light pressure for sticky finger prints. It's never done any harm to any of my Tv's or pc monitors.

Usually just a microfiber cloth works, one thing is I dont show photos much on the TV, was displaying photos and my aunt was pointing and touching the screen I nearly had a fit, soon after cleaned it with the microfiber cloth. Sometimes adults are worse than kids.

Everyone of my friends know NOT to get close to my TV. Its my baby, and only I will load a moie or clean the screen. I'm the same with my discs and the boxes. I had a friend who borrows a movie occasionally and the box comes back sticky or has crap on it. So I clean the box with a microfiber cloth too---LOL.

So, this is what being Obsessive/Compulsive feels like

The funny thing is they wonder and complain why their electronic equipment keeps breaking down while all mine last for years and years. Just recently her computer LCD screen gave up, hmm wonder what the cause was...

Do u have to slighty damp the microfiber cloth to clean it? I usually dont but wanna make sure. I noticed when i have damped the cloth and wiped the tv it seems to leave water smudge spots but they do go away. I just assume because its wet it does that until it drys but it still scares me. Anyway is it safe to dry wipe softly with microfiber? Got Em!!

MF towels can scratch if you wipe the surface dry.

A duster would be ok, but using a damp MF is fine.

Cheap MF = scratched up surfaces.
