Default criterion cases

So a couple days ago i went over to Best Buy to pick up Dexter Season 3 and i came across some Criterion's that i hadn't seen before. I do enjoy these films very much and I already bought Chunking Express, The Last Emperor, El Norte and The Third Man but they all had this cardboard feel to them. Now the ones in the store i had just seen (Kagemusha, Repulsion, Play Time) all had clear plastic cases which seem a whole lot nicer and a ton less fragile. I couldn't find a thread to explain if this is the new way they will be releasing these films or if it's just Criterion testing out a new packaging system here in Canada. I even tried going to their site but found nothing on this. Could someone please shed some light on this topic for me or point me in the right direction?

They are going forward with all plastic cases, and there is discussion regarding the fact that people have contacted Criterion, and they said they will provide replacement cases (how, is not really clear) for the original releases....

The criterion link in my signature has a lot of discussion on it.

Yeah, I contacted them and he said they hope to have the replacement program ready by September.
