Default Criterion Blu-ray Cases...

When Criterion first announced that they were going to be releasing films on Blu-Ray I decided that I would collect them all. So far, I've been keeping up with it and I plan to continue. However, this weekend I went to purchase "The Wages of Fear" and I noticed that they decided to change the case. Instead of the cardboard cases, they switched to clear plastic cases (similar to PS3 games). I was just wondering if they were going to be offering some kind of upgrade program for those of us who have cardboard cases. I would really like my collection to look nice on the shelf and I would prefer something official from them before printing covers on my own. Any official word from Criterion?

i don't know of any studio that has offered some kind of exchange program after changing the packaging style of a release, so don't hold your breath. i think most consumers don't really care about case consistency on the shelf, so it's not really worthwhile from the studio's perspective.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see more digipaks from them in the future. The cases varied quite a bit with standard DVD so we shall see.
