Default PS3 Slim screen fill question......

Ok, got a PS3 noob question seeing as I got the slim. Posted the same question elsewhere also......To add to it, the home screen fills in just fine like the 360. No, this is not a discussion on the 360, just that I never had this problem before. Is it this particular game? Or maybe a setting? Hmmmmm

Ok, just picked up my first PS3 and made it a slim as I've been a 360 guy thus far. My question is this being a PS3 noob. For some reason the picture is not filling the entire screen of my 65" HD tv. It's hooked up via HDMI and the tv is set to full. The exact same setup as the 360. The game being played is MLB 09 the show. I've never had this problem before with my 360. Am I doing something wrong? Upon initial setup, I chose automatic for AV options. Did it not do something right? This is bugging the crap outta me. Thanks for any help you can give. Below are a few pics of what I mean.

Hmmm if the XMB/home screen fills your TV it must be just that game? Sorry I can't help... all my games fill the screen as they should. I'd maybe check the game options.

Honestly, looking at the first picture...it looks like the left side fills, but it tails off on the right.

Kind of looks like your geometry settings are out of whack...an issue with rear projections.

The MLB The Show games have an overscan adjustment in the options.

You just need to go into the MLB video settings and adjust the slider for vertical and horizontal until you think it is full screen. Don't worry, it's just the game.

good! Better a simple setting than a service menu adjustment.
