Given that Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is coming out before Star Trek, I think BD release dates seem to be chosen by blindly throwing a dart at a calendar.

Seriously. Up, which came out May 29, is being released on Nov. 10. GI Joe, which came out over 2 months after Up, is also being released in November.
