Default Uj-120 Bd Player Won't Load Some Discs?

I am running the Windows Vista Home 32 bit O/S and have the external version of this drive and am experiencing intermittent playback issues.

Most of the Blu-Ray discs that I have tried to play with my WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-Ray software have played fine, but some have not!

For example, I just played the BD version of "Quantum of Solace": OK

Then, when I tried to play the BD version of "Patton"....nothing! It won't even recognize the Disc and load it. The "Computer" screen shows the BD Drive as if it was empty with nothing in it, even when the Disc has been inserted. It stops and starts and doesn't seem to sound like it is even spinning up.

This is NOT a "Region" issue as all the Discs I play are Region "A" and the WinDVD software is also set for Region "A".

I could deal with this issue better if it didn't play ANY BD discs, but why would some play and some not.

Any ideas?

PS: I also don't think it is a "Driver" issue...besides, no one has been able to find an "updated" Driver anywhere for the UJ-120 that fixes this issue!

This is the reason I steered away from the UJ-120 and opted for the Sony Optiarc BC5500 instead. Too many issues with the UJ-120 + it wont accept anydvd.

I have the UJ-120 with firmware 1.01, and it seems to work fine, though I haven't tried every BD in my collection. I'm using PowerDVD Ultra 9 + AnyDVD HD with Vista Home Premium SP2... AnyDVD is definitely disabling BD-Live, which is what I want.
