hey,

so far HDDVD's marketing have been and will continue to be rubbish. completely wasting time and money, why can't they give in. if you notice the article is from the inquirer. they are still convinced that they are beating BD, according to the number of HDDVD players sold and the number of HDDVD's add to 360, while ignoring the ps3. I am kind of wondering why they count the 360 add on and ignore the ps3....

It's because of the fact that the PS3 does not HAVE to be used for BD movie playback, whereas that is the only utility of the add-on drive.

Also, they ignore the PS3 because if they include it, it makes the hardware situation look even worse than the software numbers, even factoring in a poll which concluded 22% of PS3 owners use it for BD playback.

That number is rising dramatically given the sale and 5 free discs offered. I imagine some gamers will sell them used though.
