and given the gap in install base, i'd say thats a damn fine job by PS3 owners keeping up with the 3sixty.

That ps3 games dont sell and 360 always outsells its counterpart. Even with such a larger base install the ps3 version of Arkham Asylum managed to hang right in there.

I don't know if those were really excuses. they were more like reality. xbots won't be able so say that for much longer. because the ps3 is coming on strong and closing the gap thats for sure.

I wasn't referring to relative sales at all when I was talking about Batman. I want games that refreshing to do well, regardless of platform.

pretty decent numbers for the ps3, september is going to be huge. im going to predict over 400k-500k. it may be kind of a crazy prediction but it will be that much more rewarding if it turns out to be true.

Even with out it it still would've been close. you guys are acting like this is the first time the ps3 has been close to 360 in multiplatform sales. bottom line, there's 15 million+ 360's sold in america vs 8 million+ ps3's, to have mutiplatform games sell so close says alot for ps3.

WW the ps3 version of arkham asylum probably outsold the 360 version.

EDIT- max made a good point about 360's installed base in america, so i say its more like 10 million

I was reading the comments on the NPD news at Kotaku, and I admit that one in particular makes me laugh:
"and yet the 360 is selling more".

Do those people realize that only 7 days of price drop (from Aug 24th to the 31st) and a handfull of Slims available here and there practically completely filled the gap in sales compared to the 360 for the entire month?
Some peeps might have a rude awakening in October, with the September NPD numbers

Nice job since it was just the "soft launch" of the PS3 slim. With these AA figures, I really think FF13 PS3 for America can do up to 50% better than the competition.

Looks like September should have PS3 as the #1 console out of the three. We all know what that means outside of America as well.

They werent reality. For a long time the sales of games have been remarkably close considering the difference in userbase size. Just more FUD from the fanboys.
