Default My family room HT set-up

Just posted my family room HT setup (under HT gallery). Couldn't resist showing off

But seriously, it's just a modest little setup that I have built over time. Hoping to eventually do a dedicated Home Theatre room in the basement with a projector... but that will have to wait.

Comments/suggestions welcome. My gear is as below...
  • TV: 58" Panasonic TH-58PZ850U
  • A/V Receiver: Denon 2808-CI
  • Satellite Receiver: DISH VIP-612 HD-DVR
  • Blu-Ray Player: PS3 80GB
  • DVD-Player - DVD-A/SACD: Pioneer DVD-563A. [B]
  • Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 90 v2 L/R ;Paradigm CC-350 Centre Bose Series IV Jewel Cubes (rear speakers, celing mounted).
  • Universal Remote: Logitech Harmony 880
  • Gaming: Nintendo Wii

Very nice setup bugsnest, and welcome to Blu-ray.com.

Nothing wrong with showing off one's system, many of us do. It just means you're proud and pleased with your HT setup and we love seeing what others have done.

Great setup. Very clean and uncluttered. I like that!

I'm sorry that I didn't go for the 58" Panny. I thought going from a 34" to a 50" was a big jump, especially for my viewing distance (8 - 8.5 feet).

Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Thanks John and Louhamilton for the nice comments and welcome

@Louhamilton -
I spent many a sleepless night before pulling the plug on the 58" Panny Plasma. I went from a 42" Panny Plasma to a 52" Samsung LCD, to overcome glare from the windows. While the glare issue was resolved, I did not quite like the LCD due to its color distortion and off-angle viewing issues...

Finally sold the LCD on Craig's and bought the 58" Panny... Have not looked back since

I went from a 34" CRT ro a 46" LCD. Did not like the colors and backlight issues. Exchanged it for the 50" Panny. I love it! I just think a bigget TV would look better, especially with my new speakers.
