GO HUSKERS.
Default Buying a tv that needs a bulb replaced.

I posted a reply in a different thread that got me thinking. So i decided to make a post about it.

Why is buying a tv that needs a bulb crazy in this day and age? Its even to the point of a deal breaker for some people to purchase a tv that needs a bulb.

So i thought of some comparisons that you would not even think 2 seconds about.

You want to save money and buy a used car instead of an new one. Chances are that you will have to put some maintenance in it sooner than if you purchased a new car.

You buy a gaming console. You then have to constantly buy new games and accessories to change with the times.

A personal computer. You will buy a new computer knowing that in a few years it will be slow and out of date.

Or even a cel phone. People spend hundreds on cel phones knowing that in 6 months a newer phone that they will have to have will be released.

So my point is. Say you buy a dlp that is hundreds of dollars cheaper than a plasma or lcd. You paid less money for the dlp, with a bigger screen, knowing that you would have to replace a bulb.

So why does buying a bulb for a tv and crazier than getting a new phone every year? Or putting a new hard drive and upgrading your ram in your personal pc? Or putting on a set of new tires on a used car that you knew was going to need tires soon?
