Favorite Horror Film Poll - Blu-ray Forum

In ode to October being right around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to do a favorite horror film poll. I was originally going to make it "best horror film," but let's be honest, people vote based on what movie they like the best, not which movie is subjectively the best! Enjoy!

For the record, I voted for Psycho. Also, I did not include Aliens as an option, because I consider it much more of an action film, whereas the first film I consider to be a horror film.

From the movies on that list, my choice is Alien. The original Psycho, The Exorcist, and The Shining are excellent movies as well.

As there is an "other" choice, and I would have gone with either The Thing, Evil Dead/2 or Prince of Darkness, gotta go with "Other".

P.S: lots of excellent "classic" choices missing, which makes the presence of films such as Saw, The Orphanage, The Strangers, Trick'r Treat and Hostel all the more ... intriguing.

"Night of the Living Dead" for sure. Such a cultural impact, and it ushered in a breath of fresh air on a genre that was rarely explored in film at the time.

Man for this category u need a major poll man!! I voted "other" because my fav isnt on the list but if I had to choose from your list I would say "Halloween" Got Em!!

I never would have guessed you would've chosen Alien, based on your avatar! I actually watched both Alien and Aliens this past week and really can't get over how excellent both films are. I think Alien has an almost unmatched atmosphere to it, and the last half hour are as intense as can be. You mention "from the movies on the list"...what other horror movies do you enjoy?

haha well you're the master of polls Czar! I was considering making a much longer list, but I tried to keep it short and force people who chose "other" to post what other movie they thought I was stupid to leave off!

I definitely agree that I left some classics off, so for that I apologize. I admit that the horror genre is by far my least favorite, and as such I probably should have left the poll to someone else. The only reason I included some of the more recent ones is that I thought that a lot of younger people would be voting, and as such would choose movies they have seen (i.e. more recent ones). But hey, if someone would like to create a much more legitimate poll I would be all for it!

haha I feel u man!! But this is an important category to me and the horror list is huge thats all!! But my fav horror movie of alltime is: One of the Friday The 13th's but not part 1!! I would say Friday The 13th Part 2!! Got Em!!
