We do a thing with my wife's family where we all agree to spend a fixed amount for each other...since it is only 4 of us (MIL, BIL, wife and I), I don't have to think too hard on what to get on each of them with a $75 budget.

On my side, I only buy for my parents...even then it is a gift card.
I have 4 nephews and 1 niece - they don't get squat from me - I get them on b-days but can't do xmas for them too

I don't even want to think about Christmas shopping. Gift-giving is my least favorite thing. It's not that I'm selfish, I am just horrible at it. My parents have everything they could ever need or want and don't give me any suggestions. I'll propose they get me nothing and I get them nothing and they'll always say no, so I end up going to the mall in December and having an awful time before deciding to just get them gift cards.

Sounds like brother gets a hammy down.

My parents are getting the same player from me. Along with Gone With the Wind and Wizard of Oz for mother. Transformers 2 and maybe T4 for dad if it comes out.

I used to like Christmas shopping and always tried to get something special for each person, but now there are too many people and kids. I just had 4 great nephews and nieces added in the last few months! I have decided that this year I am not getting the nieces and nephews anything. That may come as a shock to them on Christmas Day and it may not since they have so many other people who buy them gifts. (side story- I helped my brother move a couple years ago and my sister-in-law had tubs full of toys that they hadn't even opened yet! She complained that too many people bought them gifts for Christmas and their birthdays) I don't usually buy for my brothers and sisters, I have nine of them. I do exchange gifts with two of my sister though. But, my sister and I came up with an idea that hopefully we will get finished. Our father passed away last February and we thought it would be nice to do a photo book for all of our brothers and sisters. Most of them don't have all of the photos. That will be the majority of my Christmas giving this year. Oh, and of course I always buy myself something EXPENSIVE.

Oh I don't object at all to people shopping early...just seems incredibly early to even begin talking about it (and not that I "object" to that either )....it's just we haven't even hit Halloween yet...I would've expected a thread about what people are dressing up as before this

We got our Halloween Candy last week. Week after Halloween we'll start getting out Christmas candy and other stuff. We'll start selling Christmas Trees couple of weeks after that.

How old is your bro (depends on whether you need recommendations from bluray.com fanatics).
