Default Potential Star Wars News

I was just watching a short PBSHD special on the making of Star Wars: A Musical Journey - they show a lot of footage from the films during the show. One of the producers was talking about George Lucas coming to watch - during a scene from Episode 1 which showed that ugly-ass Yoda puppet they used in that first prequel, Lucas leaned over to the producer and said something about how he was still using the "old" Yoda. The producer went on to say that their "Musical Journey" show would be premiering the footage with the "real" Yoda digitally inserted over the ugly-ass one. They then showed a quick scene (in hi-def) from Episode 1 with the new Yoda.

This seems like a pretty good sign that a big re-release might be coming very soon - it would have to be on Blu-Ray wouldn't it?

He would probably digitally replace his children if someone figured out a way to do it.

Someone needs to smack Lucas and tell him to stop messing around with the original trilogy!

He's not. Episode 1 isn't the original trilogy.

It's true about the Yoda replacement. But this was talked about in 2005, around the same time Episode III being released in theaters.

Quote:
Just wanted to pass along something that had been rumored last fall. In the new "Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith" by J.W. Rinzler, it is mentioned on p.156 that Lucas had Rob Coleman and his department "warm up" for Episode III by replacing the Episode I puppet Yoda with digital Yoda. I would expect that we will see this very fake looking puppet gone with the next major Episode I DVD release.

Knowing George Lucas, I think we'll see a DVD release first with the new Yoda, and then only a few years later we'll see a BD release.

Yeah, I saw it on Channel 11 here in Chicago... and they are adding the digital Yoda for Episode I (I sense great fear in you... fear leads to suffering garbage) in the musical tour.

I was gonna post it here too... they better release these movies on Blu-Ray... I want Episode IV and V... nothing else really...
