JCVD worth it? - Blu-ray Forum

I was thinking of buying JCVD, i have never seen it so is it worth the blind buy?, i like Jean Claude movies but i heard this is totally different, and it only comes with a DD track so thats why mostly holding off

I picked it up used at a blockbuster after hearing raves about it.

It was ok/pretty good. I wouldn't give it the raves I had heard/read about.

A lot of it is spoken French with subtitles (for those who have issues).

I'm not a big fan of his but didn't let me stop from buying it.

I'd rent first (even on DVD) before buying.

Happy I didn't pay more than $12.50 for it.

Probably will not watch again.

If you like the 'man' though,it should be good for you. A big change from what we're used to seeing him in.

Not a blind buy for sure, atleast for me. I felt that it wouldnt stand for repeated viewing and hence sold it off.

I was a Van Damme fan back in my younger days and I heard everyone raving about this movie. I rented it and hated it. I didn't even make it all the way through the movie. You probably should rent first.

Well it wasn't an action film hahaha.

But if you can get it under 15 than get it. It's a cool movie and Jean Claude Van Damn's acting is really good and the beginning scene is just an awesome reference to what we thought of JCVD during his movies as kids. They honestly need to make this a franchise with all action stars ha.

I would not blind buy it. I did and regret it. The movie is really a spoof of Van Damme's real life with little action. It still entertains on some level, but not everyone is going to like it.
