Default Dynex hdtv

Best Buy has exclusive selling rights to this brand of TV.
I'm in the market for a smaller second TV.

What does anyone know about this product?

Here's the link:

Are they a smaller division of a larger brand mfr?

I know nothing about them. Their specs are pretty impressive.
(smaller sets & 720p only) many, many features . . .

If you can get a better name brand, do so.

Dynex is of middling reliability, and other, better sets are available for not much more money. If you're willing to risk the cost, go ahead...but there are better options.

I've heard horror stories from people who bought their CRT televisions so I'm going to assume their LCD televisions suck as well.

i bought a 32 inch dynex tv about 2 years ago. we bought another one 32 inch for a kitchen and older one in the small room. the kitchen one is about 2 months old and it seems like a better build. in the end you get what you pay for. but if your trying to build a home theater try to save a little more to get a better tv.

Thank you for the input. No, this is not the main TV in the home theater.
The smaller one is for another room. since I got rid of Cable I'm considering
a TV with a tuner that can pick up OTA signals.

I went to Best Buy yesterday. I was NOT impressed with the Dynex. The sound it makes is unimaginable. I learned that IT and the Insignia is built by LG Electronics . . but it's considerably inferior in quality.

I saw that J&R is hawking a Sub-Sonic 7"TV that works AC/DC and can play in the car. It too picks up OTA signals and even has a jack for an external
antenna (The Kowatec antenna fits in here). The price is a paultry $84.99.

If you 'd care to check it out here's the link:
I can never get enough toys.

They raised the price - -it's OFF sale . . .I'll wait two weeks - it'll be on sale again . .

The only dynex product that I've never had problems with are their CD-Rs. Even their comupter accessories are bad.

I'm considering 26-32" insignia or dynex for computer monitor myself. About only thing I'd consider those brands for. Toshiba seems within dynex price range on their smaller lcds.

Yea I agree it would be just fair to come to the conclusion because if they can't even make good CRT then how can they make decent LCD?

you are always going to hear of peoples "horror stories" because people love to rag on a company that has provided them with a bad experience. But you are forgetting that thousands of people who buy them and have great experiences with them

It's not exclusive selling rights. Best Buy flat out owns the dynex brand along with Insignia. Corners cut in the name of higher margin %
