Default The Secret of my Success

Wow - a quick search on google revealed no information or even forum wonderings about this movie on Blu-Ray. Perhaps it has been forgotten - a lost relic of the 80s (cue dramatic strings music)

Personally, I love this movie - any other fans out there like this movie and want to see it on Blu?

There hasn't been any releases since its initial NTSC DVD release in 1998!!!

Yup, to my knowledge this hasn't even been released anamorphically on DVD. Definitely due for an overhaul, along with Somewhere In Time. Please Universal?

great to hear there's another fan out there

I wonder if Universal reads these forums - I for one would love to see this movie on Blu, might even write them an email to see if I can find anything out...

Cheers!

I like it, but they should then also release 'Doc Hollywood' and 'Greedy'.
Quite similar comedy-movies.

I love this movie, frankly, anything with Micheal J. Fox was very entertaining to watch. He had some good films in the 80's...and this was one of them.

Yes Please, Doc Hollywood!!!...

I guess Michael J. Fox isn't that popular any more. I'd love to see this with Extras too!

Secret of My Success is available as an Import BR in decent quality.
Doc Hollywood is great too and available on BR!

Definitely want to see SOMS on Blu. I recently re-watched the film for the first time in many years. Very entertaining look at greedy corporate America in the late '80's.

It was amusing to see the deception the Fox character employed in order to "take over" someone else's "vacant" position & make the company think he had been hired by them as an executive, when in reality he worked in the company mail room - LOL.

Also enjoyed the numerous NYC street scenes throughout the film - especially in the beginning.

This film also boasts a great soundtrack, including Pat Benatar's Sometimes the Good Guys Finish First; Katrina & the Waves' iconic track Walking on Sunshine; Yello's Oh Yeah; Bananarama's Riskin' a Romance; etc.

I think of it as a "Guilty Pleasure." It's a lot of fun. It's a little inconsistent. It's mostly just a very entertaining Romantic Comedy... then there are Scenes that are pretty "Out There" Parody. Like the CEO (From Logan's Run TV series, I think) and his "Yes Men" jogging on the Building's roof... and a few Scenes with the Boss's Wife and MJF.

If you look close during the Montage NYC scenes at the beginning, you can see Terry Farrell do a couple Runway Strolls across the NYC Environment.

There's a good chance Kino will release it on blu-ray. They said they licensed 6 Universal movies from 1987 and this movie is easily the biggest Universal movie from 1987 that hasn't gotten a blu-ray release in the U.S.

I've been rewatching Family Ties and got a jonesing for more Michael J. Fox, so I picked up the DVD 4-pack of The Secret of My Success, Greedy, The Hard Way and For Love or Money, along with Doc Hollywood in that ol' DVD snapper case (and the first season of Spin City). None of those I'd likely pick up on blu unless they had a ton of great special features. The only MJF flicks I own on blu are the Back to the Future trilogy and Teen Wolf.

SOMS was one of those movies I grew up with watching the TV version (taped off of TV) and then years later watched the uncensored version. Such a fun eye-opener watching movies that way.

I don't think I've ever seen Light of Day (though I owned the soundtrack), Bright Lights Big City and Casualties of War. Gotta rectify that one of these days.
