Default X-Men Origins Wolverine problem w/Pioneer BDC-202

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums so excuse me if this has already been brought up or if I'm posting in the wrong area.

I recently Purchased the X-Men Origins Wolverine Blu-ray 3-disk edition I went to play the blu-ray disk and found that upon starting the actual film the picture is all pixelated and corrupted. Thinking I got a bum BD disk I return it to the store I and exchange it for another. I go to watch it and surprise, this one is exactly the same. I start doing a little research and find that others are having similar problems, though none of the proposed solutions directly applied to my set up or player.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hardware:
Pioneer BD-Rom BDC-202 (firmware version 1.07)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+
4GB ram
ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2
acer X233H monitor(connected by DVI)

software:
Windows Vista 64bit (sp2)
PowerDVD 8 (updated just yesterday)

I'm having the same issue on a Dell Studio 17 with Media Direct. It plays through the trailers/ads but when I start any scene of the movie it looks corrupted and terrible. However, I put the disc in my PS3 and it played just fine. What other places did you find the problem? What solutions? Maybe I can try one of them. I'm not too worried about it though.

Unfortunately I didn't save any of the links since none of the options worked.

One suggestion I beleive was disabling BD-Live, which PDVD8 doesn't seem to have an option to do so despite supporting BD-LIVE.

Others were pretty obvious things like updating firmware, updating PowerDVD, updating video card drivers... all of which were, or are now, up to date. Go figure. Mostly I just found a lot of people with the problem and no solution.

I also read that many people had the same results as yourself - it works fine in one player not in the other. At least you have another BD player.

I find it a bit ironic that all my lone BD disks play just fine, and the one time I buy a special 3-disk edition, I have to end up watching it in standard def because the Blu-ray isn't 100% compatible.

I had the same issue on my HP Pavilion Lap Top. The HP program Quickplay (which is decent at best anyways) had no new updates. I went and purchased Arcsoft's Total Media Theater 3 and now Wolverine plays great. I had an issue with Terminator 2 Skynet Edition of the video playback freezing to a dead stop during intense action scenes and now plays smooth as silk now on Arcsoft. It is a hefty $90 price tag for the program though but well worth it. To go from a very unstable program to a very sound and smooth one is very nice.

A lot of people have reported that turning off BD-Live solved it for them, as you've found. If your player doesn't have an option to turn it off, can you take the player offline and bypass it that way?

I had the same problem using both PowerDVD 9 and Total Media Theatre 3. Played fine on a ps3 though.
