Default NFL in HD

NFL in HD on NBC looks ten times better than FOX. Whats the deal.

NBC - 1080i
Fox - 720p

Fox and ABC use 720p because the motion is smoother for sports. NBC, CBS, CW, and KTLA use 1080i because the picture is sharper.

this was the first week our fox Cleveland station/s have broadcast in widescreen HD for football. Picked a good week though, so I could watch my Steelers play the Vikings. Game scared the hell out of me for a while btw. lol
Sunday night football on NBC by far is my favorite. Now if only there was a way I could turn off Cris Collinsworth I'd be happy as a clam.

I know right? I mean, John Madden was bad...quote" The team that scores the most points is the team that is gonna win this game." Thank you John Madden, for those potent words of wisdom. Maybe if the defense uses BOOM tough actin tenactin they will get more sacks on the quarterback too? But Collinsworth makes me want to stab myself with a spork. I'm a HUGE steelers fan, but he sounds like John Madden and Myron Cope had an abortion. 2 of the most annoying voices in football. Why o why do they let this ******* broadcast anything. He should perfect his true calling, and become a mime

I never and I mean never listen to the commentators on any sports, I lower the sound low enough to pick up a bit of the nose of the game and ignore what these over price winners have to say.

I love Madden. I didn't like Collinsworth in his Inside the NFL days, but now I do for some reason. Maybe the great Al Micheals neutralizes his annoying features. I'm OK with most commentators except Jaworski, Theisman, Paul Maguire and that annoying twit from TNT who does MNF now. What's the guy's name, the one who can't finish a sentence w/o running out of breath?

I didn't mind Madden but think Collinsworth is amazing. He sees things nobody else does. I liked how Sunday he had figured out when Eli Mannings says Omaha then the real snap count was coming.

I actually like him when he isn't acting like an ass with some of his snide comments about players. I like he's willing to call people out but making dickish comments about them doesn't make it fun.

I was a bit puzzled by that. It's interesting information, but I don't know if he should be divulging it. It's like baseball commentators reading the pitch signal and saying, "He's going to throw a slider here". I know, it's hardly confidential and if he noticed it the defense probably did too, but I'm not sure how I feel about such information being broadcast.

nothing wrong with it. any bright defensive captain on the opposing team should of picked up on the same pattern. he's free to say anything pertaining to the game as long as he doesn't curse im sure so nothing wrong with it.

Haha one great observation in four hours of droning on.

He's okay but I can't imagine asking him his opinion on anything without having a lunch packed.
