Muppet's Christmas Carol is my favorite version of the story. I haven't seen Muppet Treasure Island since I was a toddler probably.

Disney owns everything except "Muppets From Space" (and Dark Crystal/Labyrinth), which were Sony's fault.

Come on now, tell the truth...you're just a really big Billy Connolly fan who is a tad bit over excited for Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day and reminisced on all his other performances.

I would be all about getting any and all of the Muppet movies on blu-ray. I'm most interested in Muppets from Space as my DVD went missing, and I don't want to rebuy on DVD. I'm least interested in Great Muppet Caper as I've never really enjoyed that one.

Not to mention, Muppets from Space--from the director of "Alvin & the Chipmunks --was considered to be the "Let It Be" that officially broke up the old-school Muppets:
The one that caused the riff over Brian Henson's management of the group, had Frank Oz retire from the group, and drove writer Jerry Juhl to retire after his earlier script had been turned down.

The first "Going to Hollywood" Muppet Movie is still the "true" Muppet movie, with Christmas Carol and "Sesame Street: Follow That Bird" coming in distant seconds.
Neither one, you will notice, has Triumph the Insult Shrimp, or whatever the heck that new CN-mouthed character's name is...

I'll get them all on Blu. Hopefully that will include Follow that Bird if Warner will do it. Of course, since it's Warner it won't include lossless audio (they didn't put lossless on the Suess or Peanuts Blu-rays just released... * bastards *)

Labyrinth and Dark Crystal look and sound great.

And while the production of the muppet movie and muppet caper etc. are not up to Labyrinth standards for A/V quality, having them on blu would still be a clear upgrade over anything DVD.

Disney has done a heck of a great job with blu ray so far -- my hopes for an excellent transfer of the original MUPPET MOVIE are in capable hands.

As of now, there are no plans to bring any of the Muppet films to Blu-Ray, but Disney has a new Muppet movie in the works called "The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made." The title was actually created by Jim Henson for a film that never got made. The screenplay is being written by Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) who is a huge fan of The Muppets. The film is set for a 2011 theatrical release and my guess is that Disney will try to cash in on it by rereleasing the 4 Muppet films they own, hopefully on Blu-Ray.

Disney also doesn't own "The Muppets Take Manhattan," which is also owned by Sony who produced the film. Disney got the rights to two Muppet movies that were made by Jim Henson productions ("The Muppet Movie" and "The Great Muppet Caper") when they bought the Muppets in 2005. They already owned the two movies that they produced themselves ("A Muppet Christmas Carol" and "Muppet Treasure Island") and they also gained ownership of most of the made for TV content (pretty much everything except Muppet Babies). But Jim Henson had a partnership with Sony that included "The Muppets Take Manhattan," "The Dark Crystal," and "Labyrinth." Later, The Muppets Holding Company leased The Muppets to them again to make "Muppets From Space." Those films are still in Sony's possession and as I understand it, will always belong to Sony.

And Fraggle Rock, which is still owned by whichever studio now owns HIT Entertainment--
Lionsgate, IIRC, judging by most recent reissue of the Complete box.

Correct. Disney's deal only included Muppet content, as in featuring Kermit the Frog, Fozzy Bear, etc... They didn't get any Jim Henson productions without those characters.
