I have a Sanyo Plv-Z3000 hooked up to a APC ES550 battery back up and last night it turned off on me. This is the second time it has done this and with the PJ on.
Usually, when it turns off cause of an outage it lets me shut what ever I have hooked up to it off. But this one turns off and has a beep emitting from it and will just power off anything that is hooked up to it. And this is a big NO NO with projectors, atleast I have heard. I am afraid to just plug the PJ into the wall and ditch the APC, cause what of the APC is preventing something that my PJ will not be able to take. But then again I have a A/C connected to the wall outlet aswell and that doesnt get turned off.. I have a second APC (same model) on my MAC and it gives me no problems...... What do you think it is? Should I ditch the APC? |

Maybe you could try swapping with the one hooked up to your MAC and see if it still happens. If it does it again hooked up to your projector than you have other problems. If it shuts off hooked up to your MAC then you know the APC needs to be replaced.

What an amazing coincidence. Just a couple of days ago the same thing happened to me. I have the Sanyo PLV-Z2000 plugged into an APC BE350G.
The projector shut off and the APC started beeping like it lost AC power. No other outlets were affected and no circuit breakers were tripped. I noticed the fuse on the APC tripped so I reset it. I'll be using the projector this weekend so that will be a good test to see if it is an ongoing problem. |

it could be that, a bad battery, or it could be that you have plugged too much into the power supply, or right at its limit. Too much meaning the items plugged in are drawing more power than the ups was designed for. Or maybe even too many items plugged in on the same circuit as the UPS causing voltage and current fluctuations, triggering the UPS.

Any business or any home office needs to have a UPS battery backup system running from day one in order to protect the business's data and make sure that service isn't interrupted. For businesses that deal in telecommunications or other industries where continual service is the core of what the business offers to customers having a high quality UPS battery backup is essential. Besides the backup system itself, every business should have at least one ups battery tester that can make sure that the system is running on full power and is ready to go at anytime you may need it. Businesses can choose from one of three different kinds of backup supplies. It doesn't matter what type of system a business chooses as long as it fits the application they need it for..
