genesis servo 800 SUBWOOFER

Anybody heard of/or heard these before? I guess I would like to hear from the old school audiophiles up in here. My audio store wants to sell me a used set.

It seems to be kinda older, but the bass was killing it and I mean it was niiiice. It had the amp and two subwoofer's with two 12in in each. I can't find much on this, but what I do find I will add links to this thread.

I'm just wondering if I should maybe get this or maybe just get something new(SVS PB-13 Ultra)

I am not sure if you are talking about the same Genesis company. I am familiar with Genesis Advanced Technologies. A few years ago, I went to an audio/video show sponsored by the Stereophile magazine in Los Angeles in one of the high-end hotels next to the airport (LAX). They had set up their top of the line Genesis 1.2 ($165,000) speakers in one of the large ballrooms. Arnie Nudell, the designer, along with Paul McGowan from PS Audio were there. They demonstrated their massive speakers with different types of music. I wanted to stay in that room overnight until my wife dragged me out of there and we went to another room where they had Wilson Audio's top speakers, Runco projector, and Mark Levinson amplifiers. To make a long story short, my wife had to call security to drag me out of there.

That is only one side and weighs 1,000 lbs.

Servo-controlled Bass Amplifier Power Rating: Six channels per side @400 watts each
Frequency Response: 16Hz to 36kHz, +/- 3dB


If you are talking about the subwoofers from the same compnay, buy them if you can afford them.

Yes, it is the same people. I told him I would have to check into a few things before I decide on anything.
