Default Quick PayPal question about adding funds faster..

I just got a paypal acct verified, and i wanted to just put $20.00 in there just to have it open, or if i decide to sell something on ebay , it can just take my fees out of PP

So I added 20 from my bank acct, but it said it takes 3-5 days to transfer.. Is there anyway to do it faster? i do not have a credit card but i do have a visa debit card that is tied into my checking acct ( which is what PP currently pulls my money from )

So would That be a lil quicker?

I arranged to transfer some money into my PayPal account as well (last week), and it still hasn't shown up. What gives? This is the first time I have wanted to use their service, but if it always takes this long...I won't do it again.

you dont need to have money in the account to use..you link your checking account or debit/credit card and it charges your account accordingly..does it not? or did they change it recently?

The way I have PP set up is the way I thought everyone did, which was to just link it with my checking account. I wouldn't see a point in maintaining a PP balance, because even if it speeds up a transaction on eBay, that doesn't mean the seller will be going to the post office any quicker to mail out my stuff.

well thats what i thought i was doing...

Like if i bought something off ebay it would automatically just pull it out of my checking acct... or debit card, but i guess its not like that, or else i cant figure out what i set up wrong..

It's always a good idea to maintain a PayPal balance, even at least $20.

It does pull from the linked checking account if you don't have a PayPal balance, but in the same way it transfers. So, if you buy something from eBay, it technically can cause the seller to be slower in your shipment, because a lot of times if you pay via PayPal eCheck (or other similar LINKED ways, rather than having a balance in PayPal), it pays the seller, but the payment still has to clear in the seller's PayPal before they actually receive the money from you. Therefore, they might actually wait until the eCheck clears (could be up to 14 days) before they send your product, and a lot of sellers don't like that.

If you have a PayPal balance, it is truly instant. If you pay via PayPal via a linked checking account, it doesn't immediately debit your account - it initiates a transfer from your bank account to cover whatever your PayPal balance doesn't transfer.

Sorry for the long-winded-ness.

Works in a similar way for a linked credit card. If you'll notice in the trade forums, a lot of people ask for "Non-CC PayPal" payment - for this reason.

Hope this all makes sense, I can clarify/explain more if needed.

(I am a regular eBay/PayPal user, I sell at least 5 items per day and buy at least once a week)...
