Great news! Been waiting for this on Blu-ray! Love both the theatrical and the extended version, so this will be a treat!

I'm sure this will just include the theatrical version, unless Roger Corman has finally found his extended print.

The shorter version does have some advantage over the director's cut, such as the improved opening, which cuts straight to the striking seqeunce of Howie flying to the island. Some of the mainland exposition in the DC is a little too blunt, imo.

The director's (or extended) cut is out on UK DVD.

Well, the extra scenes are of pretty low quality on the DVD, so I guess we won't be seeing them on a Blu-ray release. Maybe as extras, but not likely inserted into the movie.

Love the theatrical cut as well, and I'll be buying this no matter what. I can just keep my special edition DVD as a supplement.

I can't believe I never knew Edward Woodward's name aswell as many others who I'm sure enjoyed his acting career, just recently over the last few months he was involved with a few shows in the UK and I had no idea he had passed away.

I have to admit this movie is one I have never fully watched but I have caught the best part of the middle to the end and what I did see was very disturbing and I don't think I could sit through the whole thing for the very reason.

More terrifying than any recent horror movie for sure, Rest In Peace Edward Woodward.

The link that you have provided is to the crappy Nicolas Cage remake of this movie, not the original.

There is no information on Amazon UK surrounding a release date for a blu ray version of the original movie unfortunately.

Actually I think that's just Amazon making a cover-art mess. I think Lionsgate have the rights to the remake in the UK? That one's listed as Optimum, who have the rights to the original.

I really hope that you are right. Will be a day one purchase for me if this is the original version of the movie.

In addition to the cover being the remake of this movie, Amazon have also listed Nicolas Cage under the Product description. Fingers crossed that this is a mistake also.

Same date and no official cover. At least they got the credits right.

Play.com - Wicker Man

Still, I'm not getting my hopes up until it's officially announced by Optimum as it's been on and off for a while now..
