Found "Dark City" for $9.99 should I get it? - Blu-ray Forum

Well i have never seen it before or heard much about it and today when i got 3 other Blu Rays I saw it for $9.99. Should I go back and grab it?

I'll say yes. Some other people will have a problem with the DNR. Very good sci fi.

Yeah, it's a good movie. I actually scored it during that big Blu-Ray player sale Amazon was doing where you could buy a player and 4 select movies, and they would knock a ton of money off.

Yes, get it. I think it's a bloody good film. And if you don't like it there always the compensation of Melissa George's boobs in HD

looking at your collection , you obviously love Sci-fi.

Dark City is one of the best sci-fi's ever made, IMO. in my top 10 of all-time. Ebert lists it in his elite list of "great movies," and even has his own audio track on the blu-ray...its that's good!!!!

Kenneth Brown's (who is now with Blu-ray.. he was the only good reviewer at HDD at the time and blu-ray.com has him now

Now if we could snag Ralph Potts at AVS (the only good thing about their HD media area.. Unfortunately he isn't here

I bought it for $12.99 at Best Buy a few months ago and still haven't gotten around to watching it...maybe tonight.

I'm a huge BladeRunner fan and have been told that this is a solid movie.

Eh it's overrated not that great. The film's pacing was awful, the performances felt choppy and that was a surprise seeing it had William Hurt and Kiefer Sutherland who were decent at best and the end reveal was such a disappointment and then it went Matrix Revolutions on me. I'd say watch it before you buy it.

I rate it big time, and the look of the disc is fine. Having owned the DVD, I can tell you there is a huge improvement in PQ.

I love Dark City and put it high on my sci-fi list, but it is NOT better than Blade Runner (Final Cut that is).
