Robert Zemeckis - Blu-ray Forum

Just finished watching Forrest Gump. Fantastic movie. So if you're a fan, what are your favorite Robert Zemeckis movies? Of the ones I've seen, my favorite are (in order):

1. Back to the Future
2. Contact
3. Forrest Gump
4. Back to the Future II
5. Cast Away
6. Back to the Future III
7. Who Framed Roger Rabbit
8. The Polar Express
9. Romancing the Stone
10. Death Becomes Her

While he has certainly made better, more thoughtful and deeper films since, I think his greatest legacy will be Back to the Future. In terms of the impact that film had on american culture, of his films only Forrest Gump comes close.

Amazing director. It's really hard to chose one. I guess Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I'm amazed every time I see it.

Totally agree - Back to the Future is the perfect film in every sense of the word, he is a very thoughtful and inventive Director as he has proved on many of his projects , but BTTF is his Masterpiece.

BTTF is number one, though Forrest Gump, Cast Away and Roger Rabbit aren't far behind. And Beowulf is a guilty pleasure.

Yeah I love Beowulf cant wait to get this on BD ,be great to see what he does with Roger Rabbit 2.

My favourtie is definitely Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Then BTTF trilogy for nostalgic reasons.

Cast Away, then BTTF.

edit: He's a great director, I'd give most of his movies 4/5 stars, which is very high for me. They're all pretty close in my book. Cast Away is just a touch above the others, because of the production (island was SOO remote), casting with hanks as perfect for the role, and the script with the 45-50 mins of no dialogue and excellent non-verbal acting by hanks.

Forrest Gump is a classic, and Back to the Future trilogy are awesome.

Yeah, I'm disappointed at the mixed reviews people give for Beowulf. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait to pick up the Blu version.

Already have Polar Express and the other two are the only ones I would get on BD.

It is a perfect movie with probably the best overall casting job and flawless performances.

That's funny because I just watched Forrest Gump last night too. I forgot how good the flick was. Robert Zemeckis is a consistantly great director and I have enjoyed pretty much all of his movies.

Top 5 Zemeckis Films

1. Back to the Future
2. Beowulf
3. Back to the Future III
4. Forrest Gump
5. A Christmas Carol

I have found almost all of his films really enjoyable and some of them are genuine classics. There two, however, that don't get a lot of mention: "Death Becomes Her" -a hard movie to love because there are no characters that are likable, but the performances are great and the black comedy is a lot of fun (can you believe this was never released on DVD in widescreen?)...and "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" - a small movie with a great cast. Never got the attention it deserved...very funny/quirky.
