PS3 Sales Spike On Price Cut

Looks like the demand for the PS3 increased more then 135 percent since the recent PS3 price cut.

Hopefully this trend keeps up through the rest of summer and the fall and then explodes during the holiday season. Some really big exclusive and timed exclusive games coming out this year that will surely give the PS3 a bump.

word of mouth on blu-ray movies and the list of games coming out...as Fall approaches..

That is actually a misleading statistic. The NPD data for June actually consisted of 5 weeks of data, vs 4 weeks for May. If you trudge through the numbers, you'll find per week sales for June were less than May on average.

As nice as that sounds, all it really means is they went from dismal sales to mediocre sales. Still behind Wii by a lot in weekly sales and 360 by some too.
