Default A.F.D. Auto or 2CH Stereo

Hell I currently have a Sony STRDG820 AVR hooked up to a 2.0 Speaker set-up. Should I have it on A.F.D. Auto or 2CH Stereo. I switched them back and forth and could not really notice a difference until I heard some hissing noise in a preview/intro tracks in some of my blu-rays when it was at A.F.D. Auto.

Thanks for the help.

I would say leave it on 2-channel Stereo.

Once you get a sub then kick it over to AFD. 2 Channel does use the sub even if it is hooked up.

+1

exactly what I was gonna say, you will be sending bass to a sub in AFD Auto even if you do not have a sub, therefore just leave it as 2 channel and set the speakers to Large, by-passing your crossover, that way you will get as much frequency response as your speakers can handle.

What speakers do you have?
