Blood Diamond Copyright Violation? - Blu-ray Forum

Got Blood Diamond from Netflix. When I load it into my player it starts to run and then the words Copyright Violation appear and it stops running. I have a panasonic bd-50 with the latest firmware update. Has this happened to anyone and is it just the disc?

I've had that happen once or twice on my BD-30. I sent back the disc, reported it as a problem on their site and the replacement disc played fine. I'm not sure though what causes it.

Thoroughly clean the disc as the slightest scratch or finger print, can trigger the Copyright Violation Error. If this doesn't work, send the disc back and ask for a replacement but, DO clean the disc first as this will most likely sort the problem.

Yeah, I got that with a brand new copy of Patton, bought at Best Buy. After trying ti a couple times, I inspected the disc - there was a little bubble on the outer edge where the protective coating was coming loose. I think if the players detect any anomaly with an AASC protected disc, it just reports "copyright violation".

Yeah, you should go thru the various forums and the web and find out that all cases reported for these "copyright violations" are faulty or damaged media. Not actual "copyright violation". Just like anti piracy ads, they just like insulting you.
