Default Plasma as computer monitor?

Ive got the Panasonic TH-50PC77U, how safe is it to use as a computer monitor?

My inlaws had a cheap Poloroid HDTV I think it was and used it as a computer monitor and it went out fast, so is it safe?

yea you don't want to abuse still images on plasmas.. so desktop icons and wallpapers would probally leave a lasting impression

i have 2 friends (and 1 co-worker) who use their plasmas as monitors... no harm done but personally i cant condone it lol... but i say give it a shot for an hour or two and if the image retention seems severe then stop
