why is pcm louder than the hd codecs - Blu-ray Forum

When i go from dolby digital to pcm theres a big difference in volume but when i go from dolby digital to dts master or dolby true it sounds the same.Ive heard dolby true is quieter but didnt think dts master was too.

Read Understanding Dialog Normalization. Post #2 of the thread has a table of dialog normalization offsets for some movies.
