Hey everyone, i just noticed, while watching AVPR, that audio sounded louder and maybe even better while fast forwarding thru most of it. I have a Marantz 7002 and am using the dts losses track. Does anybody know why this might be happening? or if its normal?
One other thing is i noticed the DTSMA track sounds louder and better than the TRUEHD track. I have my setting on my ps3 as bitstream.Maybe use pcm for True hd? ![]() Last edited by fuzzynutkila; 08-12-2008 at 07:26 PM. Reason: updated |

ok i switched over and that has corrected the problem and left me with one new one. I can't get the back rears to work but the sides work fine, is this because it is 5.1 and not 7.1? With the bitstream you could you all speakers. Is all this right?

If so, you can only get 2.0 "lossless" sound as the PS3 can't send 5.1 or 7.1 PCM over optical... only HDMI. ~Alan |

No , i have it set at hdmi via 1.3 hdmi cable . The sound is much better than before. I have 4 speakers in back, 2 of them are out wide, those work fine.I have 3 in front and a sub. I have been playing with the eq to see if i can spread it to all 7 and i can't. Maybe that's the way it should be, i don't know. The other thing i noticed is the Marantz no longer has the dts light on , instead it has the pcm light on. Is that ok?

Your particular receiver might not be able to apply 7.1 sound to 5.1 PCM mixes. Try a title with 7.1 surround sound if you have one. ~Alan |
