Default Favorite Blu-ray Demo!!!

So, you have company over and really want to "WOW!!!" them with a demo that's worthy.

The college battle, in the Incredible Hulk (2008), usually get the honors here.

What one scene, from your Blu-ray collection, deserves the spotlight?

For picture quality, I use a combo of I robot and A river runs through it. I will then pop in U571 for some depth charge action for sound.

I usually will go with somethine they are familiar with. Otherwise, the waterfall sequence from Apocalypto is always a safe bet, or anything from Baraka.

I have a few now that would qualify:

Transformers - The climax with Megatron & Optimus fighting and flying through that building scene.

Transformers 2 - The forrest fight scene.....AMAZING!!!

GI Joe - The chase through Paris.

Got Em!!

This list keeps getting bigger and bigger for me. A recent one I really enjoyed was the segment in Pirates of the Carribean 3 where the ship goes over the waterfall down to Davy Jones locker. The PQ on all POTC movies is amazing and this scene will black out the screen for about 10 seconds and play some really cool rear speaker sound bits from the Disney Pirates ride. Most effective if your theatre room is dark and your rear speakers well placed.

2 discs for me that are demo material is The Transfomers and Baraka. Every time I play Transformers I get the WOW factor from freinds and family. I rented Baraka the other night and again my family were just blown away by what they saw. But no matter how many times my family will take a glimpse I cant persuade my dad and mom that HD and Blu ray are the way to go.

If it's visuals only, I'd say go for UP. But that's animation.
If you want live action with visual effects, maybe you can try Speed Racer with one of the races.
If you just want live action only, maybe The Dark Knight, the whole Hong Kong portion.

If it's visual AND audio, go for Transformers 2. Either the forest fight or the entire Egypt would be good.

For concerts I'd use:
Within Temptation: Black Symphony
Chris Botti: Live with Orchestra and Friends
Stevie Wonder: Live at Last
Stop Making Sense: Talking Heads
The Police: Certifiable
