Default Which BDs come with THX's "Amazing Life" trailer?

Does anybody here have a list of BD titles that comes with the THX "Amazing Life" trailer?

For those who don't what I'm talking about, here is the trailer.
http://www.thx.com/cinema/trailers.html

I think as far as I know, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the only widely known title that has it.

Star Wars - Clone Wars has it too. Don't think their are any others ... yet.

It seems clear they are only attached to Lucasfilm productions. As Lucas invented THX.

Maybe the Star Wars Blu-rays will have em

I would think any 'THX Certified' disc could use it, but there don't seem to be many of those, are there? It seems like 'THX' is loosing it's popularity...

That's because it doesn't really stand for quality any more. There are enough movies that sound amazing that don't have the THX certificate, and probably enough lousy ones with it (does Clone Wars even have lossless audio?).
By the way, that trailer scared the crap out of me when I first saw it. I wasn't expecting something like that when I started up Indiana Jones 4. I liked the Pixar ones with the robot better.

Clone Wars came with TrueHD.
Amazing Life is...just amazing!
I remember watching a film in a THX cinema with my mom and then the Amazing Life trailer started playing first.

She didn't expect anything from it. It started with the flowers, and then suddenly the mushrooms shakes and the subwoofer just blows everyone away!
The trailer just sets the mood right for a great experience!

I don't suppose you guys know which DVDs came with it either?
I know, it's a Blu-ray forum. But come on, surely we allow a little bit of DVD talk now, can we?

Indeed, I think THX lost a lot of credibility when they pooched the video transfer for SW Episode 1.

I wish the same creativity that's gone into THX trailers would be put into more DTS trailers. DTS is far more prevalent in blu-rays and it would be fun to have a bit of WHIZ-POW before the movie starts at home. Remember the old DTS trailer - zooming in from the front, around the back and then slamming into the screen only to explode to bits at the end? That always made me smile - I wish they'd do more like that (but updated). The piano chords trailer is a little lame...

DTS's trailers are seriously lacking. There's only a handful of them (litterally there's 4 if you include the DTS-HD ones, and 2 of them have alternate audio tracks). Dolby and THX have DTS beat hands down in advertising. I only wish more Blu-rays featured the Dolby trailers.

I also wish there were more THX certified discs. There's been quite a few movies lately where I've noticed banding and aliasing issues. Maybe if THX was involved these issues wouldn't appear and discs would be a little more transparent to the original master.

And you will notice that it's NOT THX certified... (At least, it doesn't say it on the package...)

I always loved the original DTS flying disc logo... I wish that would show up on a Blu-ray someday. Might just have to scan it myself!

The new ones all seem subtle and orchestral, which is cool and all, but sometimes you just want something that makes you go 'What the hell was that!!!???'

Blu is still "too new" for mass THX certification. There are some 10+ THX Certified Blu's available to date:

OK I made a quick research. There are currently 2 US titles with THX certification, 5 total worldwide. Here is the complete list;

USA
-Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Warner Bros. 2008 USA) 1080p 2.35:1 VC-1 Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Region Free
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Paramount. 2008 USA) 1080p 2.40:1 Mpeg-4 AVC Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Region Free

France
- The Rolling Stones: Shine A Light (Wild Side Video. 2008 France) 1080p DTS-HD MA 5.1

Japan
-Brave Story (Film LLP. 2007 Japan) 1080p 1.85:1 Mpeg-2 Dolby Digital EX 5.1 Region Free
-The Magic Hour (Film LLP. 2008 Japan) 1080p LPCM 5.1, DTS-HD 6.1

I gathered the names of these titles from http://www.thx.com.

The decline in certification is matched by the increase of people spelling "loose" for "lose"...

Coincidence?

The real reason is that it costs money. Standards are incredibly tight now, and studios don't want to pay for it. Someone mentioned "Episode I": it was the compression that introduced the artifacts since the same transfer was used for the EU and HD presentation.

And waxing poetic about the first DTS logo? That shreiking, nails on the chalkboard DTS logo? I like the piano one. Classy. PS: One of the best Dolby logos is still the "Train" one.

I think my favorites are still Countdown (which I believe is the newest one), Aurora and Rain. The orchestral work on those is fantastic and really shows how great surround sound can be without being over used.

Yeah, that was the first digital logo I ever saw (in Jurassic Park), and I used it quite a lot when I worked in a theater... It's kind of sentimental. Harsh and obnoxious, yes, but still pretty cool...

Dolby Train is awesome... I have that one in Blu-ray format already. I need to just make a disc of all of these trailers. Dolby City is cool for sci-fi/action flicks. The SDDS one was kind of neat too, but I never see that in theaters anymore...

Since we're on the subject, why doesn't Dolby and DTS put trailers on blu's? I know DTS did on dvd's, but they weren't always attached to the dvd's, especially later on. I only had one dvd that had a Dolby trailer - Akira.

Can someone give me the name of a film that has the TRUEHD trailer before it? I've not seen one yet. I have however seen the DTSMA trailer for the more recent Lionsgate titles.

The current piano DTS trailer on Blu-ray is lame, compared to prior efforts from both DTS and Dolby. I have an older DTS demo cd that is awesome. It has a variety of spatialized sounds moving from speaker to speaker in multiple directions.

I actually don't think any title has the Dolby TrueHD trailer... There's actually 4 different trailers though: Bit Harvest, Catalyst, City Redux and Countdown. The first 2 actually are Dolby TrueHD trailers, the others simply have the Dolby logo and are actually used in cinemas.
