United Kingdom The Abyss with green smearing! Actually that color is called Cyan

According to what Van Ling said on home theatre forums about it getting the 16:9 treatment which seems to me, like they have taken the dodgy master rubbish tape and sprinkled with lame bluray graphics to deluded the rest that don’t know what to look for.

It could be 500GB Bluary and it will still look like rubbish.

What they need to do is go back and start all over again from a 35m print and align the video equipment up so that these ghastly looking artefacts don’t even display.

You’d never see this in the cinema! But I guess most of you haven’t even been to real cinema in 10 years and have forgotten what the original medium looks like.

Here are few region 2 DVD THX screen captures note the yucky green smearing that washes and smears parts of the image detail. There should only be white light as you would see in REAL LIFE.

This is the same as the THX laserdisc PAL laserdisc VHS tape. It didn’t show up on channel 4 when I saw it many years ago, and that was analogue TV now then! They used a different print or a different means of presenting it which would put a bluray to shame.

The Abyss
Titanic
Terminator haven’t given it re-spin for months but 99.999% says its there!
Terminator 2
Terminator 3
Close Encounters of the third Kind
Cape Fear remake
True Lies
Aliens
Star Trek the Motion Picture
Dante’s Peak
Poltergeist

Oh, I can list a whole bundle and it’s a costly deal now to fix this image technical issue.

Star Trek (2009) doesn’t have this nonsense on the Bluray and I’m sure even the DVD is free from this rubbish as well. I have seen dodgy videos of Star Trek on the internet that had (green smearing) as well as reporting the video to FACT because its against the law to steal films!

So, there it is. Poor transference will result in poor looking DVD/Bluray.
