Default pioneer bdp-320 vs. samsung bd-p3600

Hi, i'm thinking of going with one of these players for the 5.1 channel analog outs so i don't have to replace my receiver. The two things i'm wondering is am i going to have a problem with my subwoofer, because right now i have to have the volume trim on the subwoofer to +5 to get decent bass out of it. Also i need to have a player that plays dvd+r discs because most of my backups are on this type of disc and i don't think the pioneer will do that. So any information about these two would be great. Thanks!

On my Pioneer 23FD, which is essentially the same player, you can adjust the LFE output up to +6db. I gave the analog outs a whirl on the weekend, and between upping the LFE on my player, and bumping the gain on the sub a quarter turn, the bass was as good as ever. I didn't touch the LFE output on my receiver either. Left that at 0.

Hope that helps.

Do you also know if the pioneer will play dvd+r's? That would be enough to make me want to get it. I would rather go with the pioneer because it is more flexible with the analog outs than the samsung is.

I can't say from personal experience, but according to Page 8 of the Owners Manual, the Pioneer plays DVD+R and DVD+RW in either a BDMV format, DVD-Video format or Data-disc format. I checked online and the same chart is in the manual for 320 as is in the manual for my 23FD.
