Default Pitt in Inglorious...

Do you consider him lead Actor or Supporting Actor just curious...

I consider him supporting Actor, far less screen time and impact on the story than Wlatz did...

If you vote for lead please state your reason...

IMO, without question Pitt is lead and Waltz would be supporting.....that's also how the nominating committee views it and I happen to agree

Pitt's segment of the movie is its primary focus, and he is a chief protagonist who IMO is largely responsible for carrying most of it, thus is deemed lead.

I think that Pitt is lead he is the main focus in all the advertising and I think he stole the movie away in his role.

Huh I didnt think I was the only one, I though Waltz was far superior, held more screen time, and kept the story moving and kept Pitts character interesting

I believe Waltz' actions and reactions largely resulted from Pitt, who initiated most of them.

I consider Pitt and Waltz as both lead actors but supporting players to the Mélanie Laurent story.

Waltz was by far the better of the two actors IMO.

The opening scene which was just over 25 minutes long was carried by Waltz, I thought, and Wlatz was a main point in both of the stories that were going on in the movie... Pitt was only a main player in one of the 2 stories...
Cool to see how different people viewed their roles

Waltz started the chain by killing the Jewish people. Therefore Pitts character reacts to everything Waltz does.

It was more of seperate stories of one Christoph Waltz as the Jew killer (intellingence officer), Melanie laurent, the french jew that escaped and runs the movie theater, and Brad Pitt as the leader of the Basterds.

He was great, but I don't think he can't carry the Torch of Christoph Watlz (Supporting). The disturbing optomism within Waltz that gives the character an unwelcoming chill, but it is also what makes him flat out funny. Pitt seems more silly with the "Southern" accent and seems more of as a way to get the audience to watch the movie, doesn't mean he is merely an excuse to get audience members, far from it, but he isn't as rememberable as Waltz, hell Waltz alone makes it worth seeing it.

Both shouldn't be considered for lead since neither got the full air time they deserved .

That is a good point and something I was considering when typing my response. All in all, I don't really think there is a right or wrong answer here (although Waltz was nominated for best supporting actor for Golden Globes). I guess in rethinking this I might consider them both leads, one a protagonist and the other the antagonist (however, antagonists usually only receive best supporting nominations...for whatever reason).

I went with supporting. I was secretly hoping for more Basterd action with him but wasn't upset by what I got instead.

I think Waltz should be the lead actor because most of the movie from the beginning was a result of things he did. Pitt should win a award for the way he said " Kill some Nazis". It's just funny the way he says it.

I don't think you can call Pitt's character the Protagonist. The real driving force is Waltz's character. I mean he's propelling the action. It's Pitt's character who reacts to his decision that he made to be pardoned, remember?
