Default Is My PS3 dying?

Help, I think my PS3 is dying and I want to see what you guys think. Whenever I trun on my PS3 the fans start to blow after 5-10 mins. My PS3 also gets really hot. I don't think it had this problem when I first got it. Is it a sign that my PS3 will get the YLOD. By the way I have an 80GB PS3 that I bought in Dec 2007 (the one with limited backwards compatibility). Also I don't know if it matters, but I mainly have my PS3 connected to a Standard Defintion TV with Component Cables and sometimes connected to an HDTV.
So should I buy a new PS3 or does my seem normal?

does not mean it is dying....

when was the last time you cleaned the vents? get some canned air and blow the dust out. also remember the ambient temp in your house is higher because you probably have your heater running..

Have you tried cleaning the vents?

My only question is, are you having any issue's with it performing the way it should.

Plus what the other two poster's have mentioned.

My PS3 from the same year and month did the same thing. After about 1 month of the fans turning on more often, louder, and within 10 minutes. I got the YLOD. I hope it doesn't happen to you but I would start thinking about a replacement player. My guess is that the player is running hotter so the fans are coming on sooner and more often. This could be from components on the circuit board failing due to bad solder joints. I tried to reflow the solder joints on my PS3 but never got it working again. Sony design flaw that has affected many PS3 owners. My player had plenty of ventilation and little dust.
