It's already available as a HMV exclusive in the UK since May. But the PQ is terrible, the picture lacks details and everything is pixelated (probably because of the poor source material).

He was talking about Tokyo Gore Police, not Machine Girl. I saw the US DVD on Best Buy for about $7. I contemplated buying it but I skipped it and bought Monster X Strikes Back: Attack the G-8 Summit! on DVD.

I just ordered the DVD, figuring that a US or region-free import release would be unlikely.

I just couldn't help getting it; so much crazy blood and gore....it's awesome! In fact, I think I've fallen in love with all these Japanese gorefest B-movies!

I would love to see Tokyoe Gore Polic on BD!
But Machine Girl (UK) inspite it was a must buy for me on BD it was somehow upconverted, either from SD quality or from 1080i to 1080p because it had those jigsawed edges. Otherwise it is almost OK I guess.

There's a trailer for it on the new Deadly Duo BD, so hopefully that means it's coming.

What has happened to Tokyo Gore Police? It was released in the U.S. and now its NOT AVAILABLE. Was this release recalled because of the bad PQ reviews? They are still selling the Canadian version. Does anyone know if the PQ for the Canadian BD is better than the other one?

I got the US release and it's better than Machine Girl PQ wise - only soft but without the jigsaw edges. The Canadian release is most likely the exact same (as the US).

Looks like all of the BDs went out of print... I found a 2 disc DVD edition with all of the same features. Not sure I want to pay $50 for a used blu-ray.

As for the movie... I expected it to be a high budget action horror type deal but it's more like Dead Alive meets Brazil meets Hellraiser meets Robocop, with the budget closer to the Dead Alive/Hellraiser side of things.
