Default Remastered (rereleased) Blu-rays

There are obviously some poorly done blu-rays out their and now having the Fifth Element, Full Metal Jacket, Terminator 2, Stargate, and now Gangs of New York, all getting the right treatment i was wondering what blu-rays do you think will get remastered for 2010 or future years?

I really hope for Gladiator, i will double dip on that for sure... and if they can make Predator look any better(i don't think its that bad of a transfer) i will also double dip

I hope some early WB discs would get re-released, like Last Samurai and Alexander with TrueHD tracks.

I thought Last Samurai looked amazing! sound could have been better, however didn't know they can make that movie look any better

Yeah, I was referring to the sound on both Last Samurai and Alexander. Should have been more clear.

I guess it depends if you're asking only for poor video transfers, of which there are some. However, there are a number of titles without lossless tracks that could be added to the discussion. A lot of the early Paramount releases such as M:I 1 - 3 and Shooter for example. I also wouldn't mind seeing a remaster of Batman Begins, both audio and video (even though it has a lossless track, it's still not a great mix IMHO). A lossless track for Terminator 3 would have been nice when they fixed the 1080i / 1080p issue, but I guess that wasn't important enough for them to address at that time. And it's inevitable: a lossless track for Speed Racer!

see i also thought Batman Begins PQ was great, AQ is another story....I initially wanted to talk about PQ remastering, however we can discuss AQ as well

Yeah, the Mission: Impossible films really need lossless. The DD does sound great, but lossless would be much better.

As far as transfer goes, I'd like to see "Christmas Vacation" re-released. Also, "Full Metal Jacket" could have looked a lot better.

The only problem is that some of the movies have poor masters which even though they could be "remastered" the improvement wouldn't be worth the effort or money for the studios, i.e. "Donnie Darko".

"28 Days Later" isn't going to look better no matter how many masters you redo, for obvious reasons that if you don't know about then you should brush up on your knowledge of transfers. "Donnie Darko" could actually fall right under this category.

Other than that, I can't say that there are any other movies other than "Gladiator" that I would double dip. "Predator" was just fine for me and I have no qualms with Fox for that transfer.

Now, WB's audio transfers have been dirt throughout the first few years of the format life, and I wish they would clean up that mess, but they won't do it for a while. If you're a studio that is not adding lossless tracks to your catalog titles, then you are way behind IMO.

BTW: Goremageddon, "Christmas Vacation" and "Full Metal Jacket" have now been re-released twice and the second attempt is more than sufficient for both titles. IMHO "Full Metal Jacket" is pretty spectacular.

Paris Je'Taime, Priceless, and District B13 with proper English subtitles.

Face/Off, The Italian Job, and Failure to Launch with Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA audio.

The Condemned and The Punisher with DTS-HD MA audio.

I cited Shooter as an example because it is one of my favorite movies, and it has very impressive VQ (especially considering that it used mpeg-2 codec). And the AQ is good for a lossy track (as are most of them), but I'd jump all over a douple-dip for Shooter if they gave it a lossless track.

"gangs of new york" is not confirmed to be different yet even though sites are saying it is.
Digital Bits is waiting for confirmation that it is indeed "new"

Would love to see Speed Racer get a lossless audio treatment from Warner. Dolby Digital is a travesty on at title! The stunning visual acuity on this BD more than deserve lossless audio to compliment it.

I thought the PQ was good. It's a naturally grainy film and the BD keeps that style.

The only reason I don't use it as a demo piece. The sound just doesn't match the intensity and perfection of the visuals.

They wouldnt say its Remastered if they were only changing the cover art...

Anyone know how big of a difference the Audio is on No Country For Old Men? The Collectors Edition is DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and the other Release is LPCM 5.1 (48KHZ, 24- BIT).. is this a big difference? would you upgrade to the Collectors Edition cause of this change in audio?

Pretty sure Christmas Vacation got special packaging and that is it. Same pq/aq as previous one.
